0 Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM)

Whenever MMON take the snapshot from V$AVTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY, it also trigger the ADDM job to compare the 2 previous snapshot and generate the  ADDM report.

 

View the ADDM

select task_name,description,created,status
from dba_advisor_tasks
where advisor_name ='ADDM'
order by created;

Create ADDM report

From script

@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/addmrpt.sql

From SQL

exec DBMS_ADVISOR.create_task ( advisor_name => 'ADDM', task_name => 'TEST_TASK1',task_desc => 'Advisor for snapshots 78 to 81');
exec DBMS_ADVISOR.set_task_parameter (task_name => 'TEST_TASK1',parameter => 'START_SNAPSHOT', value     => 78);
exec DBMS_ADVISOR.set_task_parameter (task_name => 'TEST_TASK1',parameter => 'END_SNAPSHOT',value     => 81);
exec DBMS_ADVISOR.execute_task(task_name => 'TEST_TASK1');

View the ADDM report

We can also see the ADDM report from OEM

OEM Cloud Control also can view the real time ADDM.
