In my last post, I create my MSSQL instance on the AWS RDS. This time, I am going to try hosting the SQL Server on the EC2. One of the major difference between EC2 and RDS is, in RDS, we only get the instance. In EC2, We have access the Host.
This key pair is important, we will need to use this key to retrieve the admin password later.
Connect from RDP
Before we can connect to RDP, we will need to retrieve the password first.
We have to use the security to retrieve the password.
Once you get the password, you can start the remote desktop with mstsc
The host comes with the SSMS installed. I want to use SSMS from my own desktop access the remote SQL server, I can not use windows authentication. Therefore, I have to create new sql authentication account or reset the sa password with the local install SSMS first.
